Larry Fawcett - President and CEO

Mr. Fawcett founded Stone Mountain Contracting in 1968. He was born & raised in rural Indiana. He grew up with tractors, trucks & heavy equipment. He relocated to Atlanta in 1967 following military service in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. He is a respected businessman and long time resident of the Atlanta community. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and has worked in the site development industry for over 37 years. He is regarded as one of the top construction engineers in the Southeast. He is a licensed pilot and enjoys flying single engine aircraft. His other interests outside work include stock car racing, boating, and travel.

Steve Malone -Vice President Business Development

Mr. Malone joined Stone Mountain Contracting in 2004. He is an 18 year veteran executive of the utility construction industry. His background includes sales, marketing, finance, & operations management. He has served as vice president of several companies in the utility construction industry including T-One, ITC Deltacom, NTS Utilities, Sprint, & Fishel. He has won numerous awards for sales & business development throughout his career. He has been an inductee in "Who's Who Among American Business Executives" for the last 3 years. He is a graduate of West Georgia College with a B.S. Degree in Political Science (pre-law). He is an Atlanta native with a large rolodex of business contacts. His interests outside of work include coaching youth football & baseball; snow skiing, fishing, hunting, and water sports.

Carlos Sanchez -Chief Estimator/Civil Engineer

Mr. Sanchez is our Chief Estimator and supervises our Estimating Department. He joined Stone Mountain Contracting in 1999. He is multi-lingual. He is a native of Columbia and is a degreed, registered Professional Engineer. Carlos has been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships including graduate studies in London, England and Tokyo, Japan. He was the Vice President of Oscar Saldarriaga, a Columbia-based developer, and was responsible for the management of over 50 employees. Carlos was also employed by Mayco Ltd., a Colombian grading and utilities contractor, and was involved in the construction of the La Sierra Thermo-Electrical Plant. His responsibilities at SMCI include all bidding, project proposals, engineering submittals, & monthly billing. He also coordinates field and administrative issues on most projects, material procurement & delivery for each project, as well as insuring quality control. His interests outside work include soccer & international travel.

Diana Paluy - Division Manager

Ms. Paluy wears several organizational hats at Stone Mountain Contracting. She joined the company in 1997. She serves as a personal assistant to Mr. Fawcett. As the company's chief legal aide, she insures our contract compliance and manages in-house legal matters. She also handles most issues involving human resources. She directs the Backflow & Fire Hydrant Services division. She is also active in developing new business and assists with marketing strategies. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Business with an emphasis on law and has worked for Washington, DC based lobby groups, the US government, and in regulatory litigation. For a change of pace, she worked for advertising and public relations firms in Washington, DC and Atlanta handling accounts for such clients as Anheuser-Busch, Ford Motor Company, and BellSouth. Her familiarity with the construction industry stems from her family's long-time participation in large- scale heavy construction projects throughout the world. She has lived and traveled in such diverse places as the Caribbean, the Far East, and Europe. She is an active member of the "Women in Construction" organization in Atlanta. Her interests outside work include entertaining, cooking, and gardening.

Doug Marshall - Director of Field Operations/ Lead Superintendent

Mr. Marshall joined Stone Mountain Contracting in 1997. He is responsible for supervision of all field operations as well as management of large "high profile" projects. He is a 21 year veteran field manager of the grading & utility construction industry. Prior to joining SMCI, he managed field operations for Steadham Grading, another large grading & utility contractor in Atlanta, for 14 years. He is regarded as one of the best field managers in Atlanta's pipeline & site development industry. His interests outside work include fishing, hunting, youth baseball, and spending time with his family.
